Creativity never ends for George Forss and his lover and partner, the artist Donna Wynbrandt. When he told me they were working – along with their friend Nancy – on a portrait study of Adam and Eve in the Garden Of Eden, I was dubious. They were posing naked out by a farm near Vermont and there was some dispute about the Mother Nature character – that would be Nancy.
George sent it to me this afternoon, he is working on the print. I thought the project was doomed, but he has revived it, and good for him. This image will go on my study wall if George will sell it, it is the soul of George Forss.
George and Donna are always making statements with their art, and I suspect George can speak more clearly to the statement here than I can, you can visit him at his blog. I believe his photograph is an effort to reinterpret notions of good and evil, and also of the conventions of art. I love and admire George for many reasons, but I especially admire his courage, invention and unrelenting creativity.
He has been working on this photograph for nearly a year, and is not done yet, he tells me. We will see where it goes, and good for you, George, and to you also, Donna. To the last breath of each of you, you will be inventing and expressing something original and brave.
