Maria has finished the first round of her wall work, she is calling it, fittingly, “The Painting On The Dining Room Wall.” It is not nearly done, but I am getting a sense of where she is going, it’s a kind of wall quilt or hanging piece, she is taking pits and pieces of her imagination and just letting go and adding on.
She was nervous at first, she has never turned a wall into artwork before, and then got into it. I love it, it will be one of the most interesting and creative wall sections I have ever lived around, and why not? It is so much more arresting than paint. I married well. She’ll resume work on the wall next weekend, tomorrow we are going to Boston for a day or so to trawl around the museums. There is a fiber art at the Institute for Contemporary Art that Maria wants to see and I want to see the Jamie Wyeth exhibit at the Museum of Fine Arts.
We are coming back for Christmas, we want to spend it on the farm with the crew here.
