News from Battenkill Books on two fronts. First, happy to report that Connie Brooks has just won a grant from author James Patterson (he is giving away a million dollars to worthy independent bookstores) to expand the children’s section in her store. It will soon occupy a 300 plus feet space, the store is busting through a wall to annex a small store next door. Great news for Battenkill.
Secondly, Connie tells me she can guarantee Christmas delivery of “Saving Simon” or “Lenore Finds A Friend” if she receives the orders by Wednesday of this week. She will take orders anytime, and later orders might arrive for Christmas, but she can’t guarantee it.
You can order the book online from Battenkill and I will sign and personalize it (you will get a signed photo notecard and postcard) or you can call the store at 518 677- 2515. Connie has sold more than 1,000 copies of the book already, we are going to keep going. So if you wish either of these books – “Lenore” is a best book of the month pick for December from Amazon, and you can check out the early reviews for Simon here, order by Wednesday, thanks.
“Saving Simon” is the story of Simon’s coming into my life, and an exploration of the true meaning of compassion.
