Some of you may remember when we moved into the new Bedlam Farm two years ago, we spent months scraping the wallpaper in the living and dining room. Our restoration budget ran low, other things – the bathroom coming apart – took precedence. My wife, who is a true obsessive, loves scraping wallpaper, I love spraying it and helping out with the scraping.
So we have undertaken to bright our mid-1800’s dining, there will be at least two or three layers. I like putting warm fabric softener in a plastic garden spray jug and Maria follows behind scraping away. Once started, she cannot stop. This is the darkest and dingiest room in the house, we hope to paint it a warm yellow or orange, it will really brighten up the downstairs. The room will be a mess for awhile, but we will get there.
I’ll keep you posted on our progress.
