An exciting weekend starting tomorrow. I have two book signings and talks back-to-back, Friday night, 6 p.m., Northshire Books, Saratoga Springs, Saturday, 6 p.m., Northshire Books, Manchester, Vt. Two great bookstores, Red is coming along, unless the weather changes.
The Orphan Book tour is chugging alone, interest from Westhampson, Mass., Library (February 28,) other bookstores and libraries in Massachusetts and Connecticut. “Saving Simon” went into it’s 3rd printing this week, the My Reader version of “Lenore Finds A Friend” was named the Amazon Best Book Of December for ages 6-8. You buy both books and get them signed and personalized (and get a free tote bag and signed photo postcard) if you buy them from Battenkill Books, my bookstore, either online or by calling the store at 518 677-2515.
You can check out the latest reviews for “Saving Simon” here.
Saturday is the last class of my Short Story Workshop, it is a great class and I have decided to teach the class again at Hubbard Hall in the Spring of 2015. It’s the right class for me to teach, I think, and it is drawing some truly wonderful writers.
Saturday Ken Norman, the farrier, is coming to trim Simon’s hooves. Then Ken is going into the hospital to have both knees replaced, the sign of the farrier and the farmer. He wants to trim Simon, Lulu and Fanny before he goes in, he will be recovering for about three months. Ken is tough and determined, I believe he will up on his feet, yelling and grumping in a few weeks.
Sunday, Maria and I are taking the sheep’s wool to Vermont to drop it off at a mill, she will be selling the yarn and roving this Spring. A lot of good running around
