The big men in trucks move the earth around, then put it back and set it straight. The big ditch is filled in, Vince smoothed it over, Jay hooked up the water so the frost-free is running, I’m going to buy a short hose this morning in town. I love these men, our friend Jack Macmillan showed up with a big piece of tubing to shore up the pump and I got all sorts of advice about keeping the lines warm and running. This afternoon, they are working on the stone steps leading up to the back porch, building them up so Maria and I won’t be skating on ice all winter. I appreciate the big men in trucks, they make the world work.
