Dogs are a tapestry that is woven through our lives, they enter our world, mark the passages of time, offer us connection and love that is grounding and pure. I look at this photograph, taken at the first Bedlam Farm, and I see how dogs mirror our lives and give it meaning. I see Izzy, the hospice dog, Rose, my partner on the farm, Lenore, who brought me love and Frieda, who brought me Maria. So much change, loss and love, so much gain. What more meaning can one ask for in life?
Food is part of our dialogue with dogs, it bonds them to us, helps us love and train them, speak to them, it is, to them, life and death, a communication with people. I’ve learned a lot about nutrition in my life with dogs, that is why I accepted the first and only sponsor for my blog, Fromm Family Foods.
For several years now, my dogs have eaten Fromm foods, adult and senior. Their coats have been healthy, their allergies have disappeared, their stools solid and proper, their energy and weight all they should be. The vets constantly exclaim about how good their look, how stable their wait, how shiny their coats. Fromm is a fifth generation holistic and family-owned pet food company and for the past few months, their nutritionists have been coming onto my Facebook Page on Wednesday mornings to answer your questions about animal nutrition. I’ve seen hundreds of questions answered openly and usefully, this is a service of the blog I am happy to provide.
I am proud to have Fromm as a sponsor, they do not outsource any of their foods, they have never even had a recall. Every week, we give a free bag of dog or cat food to one of the people posting questions. The same offer applies today. You can post questions for Fromm on my Facebook page right now and all day long, they will get back to you. You can also check out their website for valuable information about your animal’s nutrition. At the end of the day, we’ll select one of the questions and get your coupon for food on the way. Please take advantage of this opportunity to learn about your animals and keep them healthy.
