Today is a big day for me, a new chapter in a life that keeps unfolding. My life and habits and head changes today, in many different ways. After I post this, I will begin work on my next book “Talking To Animals,” the culmination of two decades of living with animals, listening to them, observing them, talking to them. I’ve learned a lot of good stuff, I am eager to write it and share it with you, this time in a book form, paper and digital.
My goal is to answer Henry Beston’s call for a wiser and more mystical understanding of animals. I hope to write a book that helps other people to communicate with their animals as well as I have been able to do.
I have a wonderful new publisher and an enthusiastic new editor, great things for me. I’ll announce the name of my new publisher as soon as they tell me it’s okay. My daily schedule is going to change, I’ll be getting up earlier, working on the book early on, then posting to the blog and doing all of my other stuff. You won’t notice much of a change, if any.
It’s a wonderful things to start a new book. I can’t wait. Wish me luck. The publishing world as I knew it for so long has pretty much vanished. I am fortunate to have changed, to have my wonderful blog, so many supportive friends. This will be my 28th book, I accept and embrace new technology, but I am, of course, at heart a book writer and am grateful to be writing another one. I’ll keep you posted about my progress, but I think I’ll save the details of this project for the book. I’m getting older, but also smarter. Thanks for hanging in there with me for this very wild ride.
