Tomorrow ought to be the last day of the donkeys’ exile, we expect Ted and Kim to return to Vermont. Everybody else, all four of the new lambs are staying in Bedlam. The donkeys are annoyed at their exile and are throwing a bunch of rebellious fits. Donkeys will try almost anything to get out of a direct order or response, but they don’t have a lot of patience, you can wear them down if you are determined and firm. We put the donkeys in the rear pasture, and then let them out, they tried to break off and go into the pole barn, we headed them off, waved our arms and walking sticks, make a lot of noise.
Donkeys are prey animals, it’s fight or flight and after a few minutes of shouting, they all turned and followed Maria into the back pasture, where they spent the day.
