At some point we all leave the comfort of the womb and our mother’s care and we set out to determine the true nature of the world. Red learns this often, this week he has been butted, knocked over, kicked and stomped by protective mothers, he responds, as always, with grace and professionalism, standing his ground but not ceding it.

This morning, Deb, one of the new lambs left her mother’s side to see exactly that this fearful beast is all about. They spent some time staring at one another, and then, satisfied, Deb scurried back to the protection of her mother.
