Donkeys are guard animals, and Lulu is the chief Watchdonkey, Fanny and Simon stay under the shelter of the Pole Barn, but Lulu is ever vigilant, she stays out in the storm to keep watch for coyotes and other intruders, her warm breath freezes onto her whiskers. She is always on guard.
