It is cold here and in many other places, this is the first time this season the temperature has fallen below zero – it was minus two when we woke up this morning, the windows told the story, the water lines to the outside were frozen, we hauled buckets from the bathtub. It looks like it will be cold for awhile, I’m hauling buckets into the kitchen to stockpile water for the storm tonight, I bet Maria $5 it will snow more than five inches tonight, she says. I won a bet on Thursday, I bet it would stop snowing by 2 p.m., she said it wouldn’t. You can’t beat the old farmer, I told her.
