As is often the case with me, I was surprised that the photo I ran Saturday of me and Flo got hundreds of shares and sailed across the Internet. So I’m putting up another in the series. Yes, as many of you pointed out, photos of me on the site are rare, but Maria takes some and it’s only fair, since I take so many of her. I had this idea Saturday as I picked Flo up that it would make a neat, not very literal image of me and Flo connecting to one another, we do it often.

Maria and I are quite telepathic and she understood precisely the kind of photo I was hoping for – focused, close, not literal. Maria is a not into photography, she finds it too mechanical, she doesn’t waste much time on it, it’s not the way images in her mind work. But she understood this idea, went into the house and got my camera. I had pre-set it – put the 70-200 lens on and set it for the closest possible focus. I had this vision of two shapes coming together, and lots of connection – Me, Maria, Me, Flo, Me, the camera. It came together well, Maria got three or four of those shots, I will put them all up. It’s a good Monday photograph, it reminds us what is important.
