I resolved when we moved to Bedlam Farm 2.0 that I would shoot more portraits of the people in my life as well as animals. I’ve been doing that in my new home, Cambridge, N.Y., a wonderful place to be a photographer, there are so many portraits I want to take. Marjie is one of the sweet people I have met here, I actually encountered her at the Washington County Fair a few years ago, she helps set up the photo contest there (she scolded me for missing the deadline this year.) I see Marjie every week at the Cambridge Farmer’s Market, she makes and sells maple syrup products from her farm in Argyle, N.Y., she has the warmest smile and the most sincere face and she is just as nice as she looks.
Real people have vanished from our news media in favor of lunatics, politicians, talking heads and celebrities, so it is almost surprising to see the spirit of a real human being on any screen. Marjie was leaving her farm stand to go sing in her choir Sunday afternoon in the small town of Harford, N,Y., where they will sing Christmas carols. Marjie loves Washington County and does many good works here.
