I call Red the “Anywhere Dog,” because I can take him anywhere. This morning we went to Albany to be interviewed by Joe Donahue of WAMC. We got there early, so I walked with Red in a nearby park, I forgot his leash but it didn’t really matter. He came into the WAMC studio, greeted everyone and then hung out with Joe before the interview. Joe and I used to do a monthly show together called “Dog Talk,” it was great fun and every book tour begins with an appearance on this Northeast Public Radio station. Joe is also a dog lover as well as a book lover, we are very easy together.
When the interview began, Red curled up and went to sleep between us and didn’t move until it was over. He seems to know when interviews are over. Then we came back to the farm, another interview coming up with Wisconsin Public Radio’s Kathleen Dunn. I think I’ll bring Red and Frieda to the launch reading tonight at Battenkill Books, Frieda doesn’t like to greet people, she can doze while I talk.
