Maria had the very thoughtful idea for me to offer some of the photos going on sale at the Open House Sunday online to people who can’t come. The first one, “Route 313, Two Barns” sold yesterday as soon as we put it up, so I’m offering a second, “Holy Apple Tree With Red.” The image is 8 x 12 and matted, it is 16 by 20 inches. The photo is printed in archival paper by the Image Loft of Manchester, Vt., my printer. It is signed but not framed. The price is $175.00.
This is the apple tree in the pasture where the sun comes up each morning. It was digitally enhanced to bring up the colors I see at sunrise each morning as the sun bursts over the tree. This is where I hear God laughing, where Red sits and glowers at the sheep, and where I say my own version of morning prayers. For me, this photo is all about hope and promise, each day. Anyone interested should e-mail Maria – [email protected] or visit her website.
I was going to enter five of my favorite photos in the Washington County Fair, but missed the deadline, so those photos will be available for sale in the Schoolhouse Studio. This is a good way for me to sell my photos – just the ones I love, very few, one at a time. They are among my favorites. The Open House is Sunday from noon to four p.m., details on Maria’s website. There will be donkey visits, sheepherding, a poetry reading by Mary Kellogg, I’m going to also give a talk and do a demonstration on Red’s therapy dog training, specifically how I get him to focus on people.
Maria has some wonderful art to sell – her pillows, potholders and scarves, my photos, Marilyn Brook’s beautiful landscapes as well as Kim Gifford’s photos and montages and Jane McMullen’s wonderful pincushions. Great stuff, all of it inexpensive. Hope to see you there.
