Ma came to us last year, a young friend was looking for a home for her. She was huge, and she ran over Red a few times until he attached himself to her long coat and hung on for awhile. Ma is much more easy going than Zelda, and she has a robust appetite. She plunges her head to the bottom of the feeder and comes up covered in hay, which is all miraculously gone in just a few hours. She is not the brightest bulb in the shed, but may be the calmest. She and Red get along famously now, and she sits while we check her out or change her coat. I haven’t written about her much because the trouble-makers get all of the attention, of course. But this is the essence of Ma.
