We hauled these two lilac bushes back in the car and it was a challenge getting them out and into position. The nursery said to dig a hole between eight and ten inches – not too deep – keep a lot of the roots above ground. The bushes are swelling. I forget their names, but these – I know both are blue – are going on either side of the front steps. They will grow to about 12 feet tall. We have to run out and get a shovel, but this is a happy Easter celebration and symbol for us. Maria will try and keep me from digging because of my back. She will not succeed.
