Maria and I were walking along the Embarcadero during my book tour for “Dancing Dogs” and we saw a woman from El Salvador selling jewelry. This necklace just shouted out to me and I got it for Maria. She wears it sometimes and hangs it sometimes on various windows and sill. I love the way the colors speak out and it caught the sun this morning and I caught it.
I lay awake in bed last night – I slept easily and well for the first time in a week or so – and I started listing my gifts. Maria. The farm. The dogs. My daughter in New York. The donkeys. My photography, blog and books. I have a long list of gifts and it is always good to remember that.
