I have herded sheep with dogs many times, but whenever I see Red moving around the sheep with so much joy and confidence, it lifts me up. Working with dogs, especially working dogs, is a great joy to me, from Rose to Izzy to Red and Lenore. I give thanks for the great breeders who have worked so hard to create dogs like this and brought them to me. I think of Dr. Karen Thompson and Gretchen Pinkel especially for Red, and for Lenore.
