Next: Moving The Barn Cats And Chickens

As long as we have animals in our care still at Bedlam Farm, I don’t feel quite moved. Tomorrow we are moving the barn cats, and – if the people at Common Sense Farm finish our chicken coop – the chickens as well.

Many people have asked me about the barn cats for months, so here’s the plan. We’ll get two dog crates and bring them into the barn. When we feed Minnie and Mother, we will pick them up and put them in the crates. They are very easy to handle. We’ll bring them into our barn, put some litter pans and food in with them, and leave them there for two days. Then, when we feel they are aware of us being around and their being fed in the barn, we will release them to figure it out.

The chickens should be simpler. Once we get the neat hand-made coop from Common Sense Farm, they’ll go into it.
