Do we mourn what is gone,

or shout with joy at what is coming?

Are we sad at the nature of life,

or filled with happiness at the promise of renewal, and

rebirth?

After darkness light, after sorrow joy,

after loss, gain.

In the different wells of the heart,

there is pure rain, there is love,

there is promise and hope,

change and renewal.

Out of the ashes, something new,

something beautiful, life returned.

Every day, a different well of the heart,

from which to drink.
