We pored over the X-rays of Red’s foot for quite awhile, but there were no signs of fractures, breaks or any metal objects (the X-rays don’t pick up thorns or burrs or wooden objects.) We couldn’t find any abrasions or wounds on the pads or in between and they sure looked, poor guy. Red was incredibly sweet and compliant, and he has plenty of new friends and admirers.

I admit it is tough to see Red in a lot of pain, but I want to see if this works itself out before agreeing to more tests. It’s a bit of a puzzle though. Album on Facebook, I found this scene poignant somehow.
