Necessity is, in fact the mother of invention. We started work on the old pantry more than a month ago, and it was a nasty room – floors covered in grease, dust and grime on the new panelling, dingy doors. The room was the biggest mess inside of the new house and we were planning on asking Ben to paint it. New budget realities have caused us to take up much of the inside work ourselves and we love doing it. Maria did the floors and ceiling and one coat on the walls. I did the pipes (fire engine red) and two coats on the walls and the doors. Below, the new pantry. We both loved every minute of eat, talking, dancing, eating fresh fruit from Stannard’s Farm Stand down the road. Come and see.
