Today, I mowed the lawn at the new house. I tried out my new weed-whacker and did my first weed-whacking. I watered the flowers, and the new trees, replaced Rocky’s water tub, took Lenore and Red for a walk behind the barn, met with Ben about taking the old barn down and building a new shelter for the animals.
Maria painted the ceiling of the pantry, we both painted the doors. Music of the day was Gregorian Chant, sort of gloomy but fit the cloudy day. I scoured the old stove. I painted an old panel we uncovered in my office fire engine red. I painted the pipes in the pantry red. Tomorrow, Ben is loaning me some tools for removing the wallpaper in the living room and I am going to remove it myself. Will take a few weeks, I’ll do it at night. Photos and details to follow. The new pantry works great. Necessity is the mother of invention, for sure, and I love learning how to do things I always let other people do or paid them to do. About time.
