Went inside the collapsed barn today for the first time with Ben and Maria. Quite a wonderland in there, some re-usable old wood, lots of junk and debris, metal roofing. Todd Mason will be hauling the metal out to be sold, and we plan to burn the rest in a hole behind the barn.
News and developments:
– People coming to look at the farm canceled, made an offer on another place in another town.
– Ben needs only two more days to repair the leaky roofy before the next rains come.
– We can use a lot of the wood from the collapsed barn to build a Pole Barn extension on our existing barn.
– Ben will renovate the old schoolhouse so Maria can work on it. She fought me on this, but I insist. Next to shelter for the animals, it is the most critical. Her work is just as important as mine, and I’m not delaying having an office to write in.
We made real headway on the pantry. Photos later.
