Strut and the two hens have a new routine. In the late morning, they all hop up on the picnic table behind the farmhouse under an apple tree and they gaze out at the farm and the valley beyond. We have three very nice chickens, calm and industrious, and they have their favorite spots to pause in shade and contemplate the world. They inspire me to do the same.
