Maria showed me her new collage wall hanging – “Hold Hands With The Universe,” the name came from a dream she had yesterday. The creative process is a wondrous thing, complex and mysterious. Maria has the most complex, rich dreams and many become streaming pieces or potholders or quilts.  I love to see her work, the way she takes all of these images and ideas and weaves them into these evocative collages.  She is writing this as much as sewing them, and playing around with text and color. Maria is in one of the richest creative periods since I have known her.

She is selling everything she makes. I think “Hold Hands With The Universe” was sold minutes after she put it up on her blog. Her mind is one of the many things I love about her.
