Above, Connie Brooks unpacks “Going Home.” Today is the pub date. Today is the second step in my landmark season as a writer. First, “The Story Of Rose,” my first e-book original, a New York Times bestseller. Then, today, the publication of the revised edition – the paperback edition – of “Going Home: Finding Peace When Pets Die.” In two weeks, my second children’s book, “Lenore Finds A Friend” will be published by Henry Holt, and then a book that is coming to be my own favorite book, “Dancing Dogs,” a collection of fictional short stories examining the emotional connections between people and dogs.
I went to my local bookstore, “Battenkill Books,” to sign a few cartons of the paperback which includes a new chapter on how I dealt with the loss of Rose right after writing a book on animal grieving. Battenkill books is taking orders for “Going Home” and pre-orders for “Dancing Dogs” and “Lenore Finds A Friend”, the story of Lenore’s friendship with Brutus the ram (the photos of Lenore and Brutus crashed my website and prompted its move to a new server.)
If you order these books from Battenkill, I will sign and personalize them and Connie Brooks will ship them anywhere in the world and you can support my work and also support a wonderful independent bookstore. I’m hoping Connie will sell 1,500 copies of these books by December. I bet she will. They are also available, of course, at your own local bookstore or anywhere books are sold, online or off.
