Here Comes The New Fence

Rocky checks out the new fence

Todd Mason of West Pawlet, Vt. came to our new farm today to drop off the first load of fenceposts and wire for the new fences that have to go up there before we can bring our animals to New Bedlam Farm. The fence will cost about $12,000 – it has to be unbreachable both ways – coming in and going out – especially for sheep and donkeys, for whom the grass is always greener…The new farm is on a much busier road than Bedlam Farm. I learned early on that  fences are important. Todd is going to post updates on our new fences on his website. You can follow it there. Work starts after Labor Day.

Todd came with his daughter to drop off the first load and Rocky peered our nervously, trying to figure out what is going on. Rocky’s life is about to change. Todd is outside every day of the year. On Sundays his daughter comes with him.
