Some of the best photos I ever take are of people loving animals and animals loving people back. This morning, I had such great fun taking photos of Jenna and her 16-year-old Fells Pony Merlin, who now lives on her farm, Cold Antler Farm. Jenna and I are very connected. We both are bloggers and writers with farms and a life with animals. There is really no explaining why people love the animals they do. Jenna did not need a pony in her life, she has enough going on but then I didn’t need a blind pony either. When you see them together, it is very clear that this is connection of great love on both sides.Capturing this emotion is a goal of my photography.

As I well know relationships like that make things happen, open us up, teach us so much, challenge us. I love photographing love and emotion, and these photos speak very much for themselves.
