Moving Stories: Found A Place We Love

Bedlam Farm, dusk

After we realized the New Bedlam Farm we were looking at might not work out, we got into the car and drove around and we found another place we both love right away. It is an old farm, with an old farmhouse, and a couple of outbuildings that would be good for Maria’s Studio and for the donkeys (I am to have a donkey door in the new place outside of my office so Simon can stick his head in like Mr. Ed). This place just looked right, and word is, it may be coming on the market soon.

I feel strongly about getting a farm and farmhouse. It is a part of me now, my writing, my photography, my life. Just something I need. Maria needs a good place to do her work, and to continue her curator work with an art gallery. The donkeys need some pasture, the dogs need a secure fence. The chickens and barn cats will have to take care of themselves. This new place touched both of us, and it has some remarkable stories attached. We’ll see.

Real estate is challenging, exciting, important. We are clear about it. If not this place, one better. Someone will buy our farm when they are ready. Can’t wait to meet them.
