Windblown Meg: What Fear Steals

by Jon Katz
Windblown Meg: Robbery and Fear

Meg was popping up everywhere Sunday after her very brief recovery, including on the fence, in a high wind. Hen of Entitlement.

___

Fear robbed me  of much of my life.

It stole my peace of mind.

It took things away from other people close to me.

It took my decisions.

My sleep.

A marriage.

Hurt my family.

Stole my money.

Choked my creativity.

Stole my story.

Took friends away.

Robbed me of color and light.

Of joy and energy.

Fear is the robber that never stops stealing.

Whose victims never stop hurting.

Fear steals dreams. And hope. And promise.

And love.

And sentences us

to life.

Without fulfillment.

Or release.

Or parole.
