The work of being human for me, is eternal.
To be fulfilled.
To live a meaningful life.
To live a self-determined life.
To respect myself and my decisions.
To live a life of strength, not fear.
To see life as a triumph, not a struggle.
To stop telling sad stories of struggle and lament.
My life is precious, my life is sacred.
I believe you are as good as the dogs you have, and this morning, I was quite proud to see another configuration
of the dogs of Bedlam Farm. Pearl is here, which means my daughter Emma is here, up from Brooklyn with some 5-year-old Gouda Cheese, CD mixes, and multi-grain bread. Pearl’s presence is like the Queen’s flag over Buckingham Palace. When Pearl is here, the Prodigal Daughter is in residence.
Dogs mirror us and our humanity, I believe, and humanity is the work of being human. I must be doing something right to have had so many wonderful dogs pass through my life.
