Meg’s story is that she transcends the boundaries of her life, the expectations of being a chicken. I like to think I’ve done the same thig, in my own strange human way although it took me longer and I spent more on therapists and counselors. She goes where she is not allowed or expected, or even belongs. She begins her day by nosing into the feeder, pushing aside the donkeys, checking for bugs and seeds. She is the Hen of Entitlement. When she is done, she flaps her wings and lifts off and the day begins.
