Impressionist Hen. Peck At Life

Impressionist Hen. Peck At Life

Everyone is an artist, everyone a writer.  I decided to see this photo as art. To think of the federal worker in Cleveland who turns to the blog every morning to help her get started with a long and sometimes dreary – for her – day. I wanted her to smile, and say, “wow,” just like I do every morning. So I closed my eyes and thought of the color and pumped it up in Aperture.  I thought of the hens as impressionists. How they peck at life. How they remind me to peck at my life, every day. To look for light, color, love, good, connection. Every day. Bug by bug. There is so much light and beauty in the world, and each day, I remind myself to look for it.
