I was very drawn to the way the sun lit up the skyline ringing the park in the late afternoon. The buildings looked timeless, nostalgic, very evocative for me not only of this time and place, but of other times and places. All around the park, I had the sense of a culture that cared about how things looked, that they be solid and enduring and dignified that parks and statues were worth the expense. I think so.
