Northeaster. Ferries Stopping. Going Nowhere.

by Jon Katz
Northeaster

A big Northeaster has hit the Northeast, and brought wild winds and heavy rain to Martha’s Vineyard – snow expected on the farm tonight. We aren’t going anywhere, as the ferry is unlikely to be running tomorrow, when we planned to leave. So I booked ferry reservations for Monday and will head home then. We are lucky, staying at the home of a good friend, Jan Pogue. Tomorrow we’ll ride around andĀ  take photos. Maria scored at some thrift shops. We had great clam chowder for lunch. Stopped and got a bunch of books to read – I’m working on Steve JobsĀ  (I’ll write about it later) a new biography on John Brown and his raid on Harper’s Ferry and a novel about a family dealing with Hurricane Katrina. Good stuff for a Northeaster.
