They are holding a wake for Ozzie, a founder of the Bettlebung Farm in West Tisbury, Martha’s Vineyard,  and the Flower Man, who wrote this enchanting sign and sold flowers for many years from Beetlebung Farm. I look at this sign and I imagine the elderly man who wrote it so carefully and arranged the flowers so lovingly. Every bit of writing is the portrait of the person who wrote it. Ozzie sold flowers into his 90’s, then fell and broke his hip and never recovered. They are saying farewell to him, and I bought a bouquet of flowers in his honor.
