I love returning to myself this week, being a writer. I have cleared my mornings, working hard, making progress – three chapters this week. I will get up at 5 a.m. Wednesday and keep going, following John Updike’s wise caution that a writer cannot be truly creative for more than four or five hours in a single day. I have always wanted to be a writer, every waking day of my life. And I am one.
