The mystics believed that God created human beings and gave them a creative spark, and called them to use that spark to live meaningful lives of fulfillment and self-determination. To tell their stories, and build their lives on love, not fear or judgement or anger. The only thing people had to fear, God proclaimed, was ignoring that call and living lives that were meaningless, determined by other people, lived in fear and confusion. I thought of the creative spark when I looked out the farmhouse window this morning and I saw the sun explode out of the mist and through the pasture. Glory, glory.
