Food is life to animals. They love whoever feeds them. Food is a wonderful way to connect with animals, to train them. I’ve never quite understood trainers who reject food as a training tool. It is everything to animals, and it is the way I talk to my animals and dogs. Food is not the only incentive for them – they do love, they do attach, they do connect. But food is a powerful language for animals. For domestic animals like dogs, cats, donkeys, everything depends on the people who bring them food. It is calming, centering, a language of love and commitment, and of instinct and attachment.
