Simon was clearly not abused, certainly not in the physical sense. He loves attention, is drawn to children. His eyes almost never leave me now, if I am around. The apples, partly but something more. We were wondering today if he wasn’t a content farm donkey in Vermont, where he supposedly came from, and was used to attention from a family. Maybe he went to the 4-H or County Fair. He has been touched and groomed, and he is safe around people. His suffering was from neglect, not abuse.
