Had an afternoon off in Seattle yesterday, and the tour for “Meet The Dogs Of Bedlam Farm” resumes with a vengeance today- schools, interviews, 6 p.m. reading at University Books in suburban Seattle. Tomorrow, night 7 p.m. talk and signing at Third Place Books. So glad Maria is here. She is about to get her first look at my talking to 400 kids at an elementary. Definitely different.
I’m hoping to find a few minutes to get over to the Panama Hotel, about which a lovely novel was recently written. It was where some Japanese Americans left their belongings before they were marched off to deportation camps during World War II. Their belongings have been preserved in the basement of the hotel. Seattle is an interesting and beautiful city. Great architecture and sense of neighborhood and place. Amazon and Microsoft right near docks and flophouses.
