I hope we can remember them, as we pass them bye, and they lie crumpled ad spent, before the ground thaws and the tractors will come and level them for good, ending their lives as firewood perhaps. Nobody can replace old barns these days, and they are part of our lives and past that are fading away.
I think of the animals they sheltered, the grain and feed they stored, yes and the winters they withstood. And the people they provided for. Pretty neat history for a building. So if we can’t save them, perhaps we can remember them.
