It was an odd day from the beginning. I got up at 5 a.m. to have a spiritual morning, to meditate, sit with a cup of coffee and look out the window with the dogs, gather myself. Maria was going to join me shortly and do the same.
I came downstairs, let the dogs out, started a laundry, went across the street to start a fire in her studio, I took some video of the sunrise, and then I got distracted by the donkeys braying and went to the big barn to let them out, and the cats were yowling, so I stopped and gave them some kibble, and then I mistakenly erased the video and came into the farmhouse, and started a fire in the wood stove, put the coffee, on, washed the dishes, and then I took Frieda outside and got a great video of it, and then erased it by mistake.
When Maria came down, I walking around in circles, trying to download video, check e-mail, mail something to my editor. She was doing a video of her own, updating her blog, going over to her studio, giving the donkeys new hay because the old bale was moldy, and then I sat down with some coffee and we both burst out laughing. What a disaster of a spiritual morning.
It was a bad technology day for me. The day just got away from me. I got a new small video camera but can’t get the software working with You Tube. I took the memory card out of my camera and misplaced it, as we had a visitor, and now I cant’ find it. Lost a score of really good photos, and I was eager to put them up. I take this all as a sign. Slow down, take a breath and get back to basics. No videos for a day or two, I can get more photos and tomorrow, we will go at it again in the morning, and this time, I will get up at 4 a.m and have my quiet hour or two.
