I took a video of the daily Photoshoot, photos I need for publicity and marketing for my books. It’s part of being a Bedlam Dog, and my dogs are getting goo at it (cept for Rose, of course, who never gives it away). I like this use of video, but I want to keep some of the space, boundary and mystery around my life. No videos inside the farmhouse, very few of me or Maria, if any. Not too much sound.
I see the videos as tone poems, as Maria is using them on her site – she has a gorgeous visual poem to music she put up yesterday that is helping me see the possibilities. But the videos – once I figure out how to do them – can lend another dimension to story-telling, and I see what a great opportunity You Tube is for me to get my work out there. Mastering these new tools is fascinating to me, sort of like chess. It’s constantly moving and you never quite get there.
