I think I can never be comfortable with the emotionalizing and personifying of dogs as cute and piteous and abused things, because dogs are mystical creatures to me, powerful spirits that sweep through our lives and open the doors to our souls and hearts, if we permit it. Rose is such a creature to me, an animal who has a mystical sense of aloofness and vulnerability all mixed together, with me, not really with me, a pet but not a pet, a spirit that lives beyond the realm of my consciousness or understanding. That’s why I ended “Rose In A Storm” the way I did, to make that point.
Today I took a beautiful walk with Rose in the very bitter cold and late afternoon sun (it is -10 her now) and I some photos and and also shot a video I will here and on YouTube in the morning. Got to do some writing now.
