It has been bitterly cold for two days, and when the temperature goes that low, we give the donkeys some grain each day for energy and warmth. They love grain and the minute I go inside the barn, they are the barn door. I like this video because it goes inside the barn – where the barn cats wait – and you get a feel for the cold, for the space. It is confusing to beholding a video camera up while you open gates, lift things, catch your breath, scoop grain into the buckets.
It is healthy to be humbled so thoroughly by a new medium. And this is my longest video, nearly four minutes. But it did the job in the sense that it captured, I think, a slice of a donkey’s life, and that of the people who care for them.
I’m trying a new way to embed the video right into the blog. Let’s see if this works
