May 4, 2010 – Storm, clearing, cool. I call this the Cossayuna Ghost Cottage. I’ve driven by it hundreds of times, and wanted the catch the feeling of these ghost buildings, scattered throughout rural areas, echoes of other times, in America’s habit of tossing out or bulldozing its past. I love these sagging old buildings. Like stone walls, they tell stories, and they touch the spirit. Finally, I pulled the truck over and stood by the lake, and people came out of their houses to watch me take a photo, puzzling as to what I could possibly be interested in.
